Jacinta "Jayadevi" Hollon is a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance, Power Pilates, and the Integral Yoga Teachers Association. Her teaching method is informed by certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, Accessible, Restorative, and Yin Yoga, advanced Pranayama and Meditation techniques, as well as the classical Pilates method. Jayadevi currently teaches weekly classes
and special workshops at Integral Yoga Institute in New York City, where she also serves on staff as Manager of Teacher Training
and Yoga Therapy Services.
With a diverse background in classical dance and contemporary expressive movement, Jayadevi came to Yoga as a performing artist and dance teacher, seeking a mindful and compassionate approach to realizing the body's full potential. After healing her own injuries through Yoga, Jayadevi discovered that her true purpose is to share this experience with others, believing that every practice is a sacred moment of heartfelt offering and devotion, revealing the essence that unites us all.
Jayadevi focused on East Asian Studies at New York University and Nanjing University, and in the course of her studies was gifted with the opportunity to travel extensively in China exploring Eastern philosophy, spiritual practices, and plant-based medicine. Along her travels, she absorbed the ancient traditions of Tai Chi and Qigong, which continue to influence her approach to Yoga. Her personal practice is deeply rooted in Taoist teachings, the seeds of which were planted during her travels and further nourished by initiation into the Tantric spiritual path. After returning to the United States, she continued her studies with a concentration in Psychology and
Human Development at the State University of New York, with special interest in alternative approaches to mental health.
In the spirit of mettā (loving kindness) she combines these experiences to offer her services in a holistic approach to physical,
mental, and spiritual wellness practices. It is her hope and intention to help others find peace and happiness in their daily lives.
Her spiritual name, Jayadevi, was a gift from her teachers, honoring the "Victorious Goddess".
Echoing that thought, Jayavati is a Sanskrit name for a victorious being, one who embodies this essence,
a feeling Jayadevi would like to impart to all who follow the yogic path.
